There was a parrellel and overlapping party scene in the late 90's earlt 2000's.

Notable Dj's were:

• Scrub aka Dan (house,tech,garage )

• Focus (D&B)

• Rue (Minimal Techno, Tekkkkkkno)

• Brown (Jungle,d&B,Breaks)

I think in 98 or 99 there was a hip hop show at backdoor with a group from richmond,back mel,another greenville crew, this event was hammpered as the cops attempted to plant drugs in the venue to no avail, allthough this scared away some possible guests.

There was a really succsesfull open mic event at backdoor in 98-99 as well.

-There were Hip Hop Shows at Backdoor in the late 2000's, - and eventually some cross genre shows at Backdoor, with Hip Hop, Dance, Punk, and Noise.
