Attentat was a noise act that had two incarnations. The first incarnation consisted of Whit Roberson on Guitar, Carlton Smith on Bass, and Theo Goodman on various gadgets. It played a benefit for [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorenzo_Kom'boa_Ervin|Lorenzo Kom'boa Erivin]'s defense fund in Asheville. The next and only other show was downstairs in Backdoor. This show comes up in conversation to this day, because members came in unannounced, covered their faces, set lyric sheets on fire, and drove a room full of very tough looking punks outside.
The second incarnation consisted of Theo and Whit. It played a regular night at the corner replacing the folk jam night. This lasted about a month, until Whit and Brian (from the folk jam night) got into a brawl with the bouncer and two bar keeps in front of the corner. The brawl had nothing (directly anyway) to do with the noise night.
Appearantly it had to do with a personal dispute between Brian and the Bar Owner concerning a love interest of the owner. It may have also involved resentments concerning overdue tabs, and one of the bartenders misinterpreting a threat with a knife made as a joke. Anyway the bouncer did most of the fighting and this was a week after any arguements. Actually now that we're on the subject, That damn fool bartender (the gothy one) slapped me in the back of the head when he walked by me. I walked across the street to where they were on the sidewlk in front of subway. I stood there for a second and the bouncer sucker punched me. I kicked him in the nuts mind you. The big bastard tripped and fell on me and broke my damn leg.
